His familiar face is recognizable from roles in films including in Airplane II, Golden Girl and more as well as dozens of TV appearances including "The Young & The Restless", Lifetime TV's bio of Whitney Houston "Whitney and Bobby" (playing her father), the "Jamie Foxx Show", Nell Carter's love interest in "Gimme A Break", two decades of "The Rockford Files" and many others. James A. Watson, Jr. is also a talented singer, dancer, and producer and has worked with many industry greats. He brings a breadth and depth of knowledge to every role.

James has just completed a workshop production of a new and exciting play "Blueprints to Freedom (An Ode to Bayard Rustin)" at the La Jolla Playhouse. Directed by The Cosby Show's Phylicia Rashad and written by Michael Benjamin Washington, this project deals with the epic behind the scene efforts of the architects of the historic 1963 March on Washington; promoter and director A.
